Last Thursday was another red-letter day for Television Centre (TVC) as it marked the granting of planning consent for the master plan proposed by Stanhope the new owners of the former BBC campus. As someone who is involved in the shaping of the next chapter it was especially pleasing to see the fruits of our labours come to pass.
The BBC ceased all operations at Television Centre in March of this year and since then the place has felt a bit like the Marie Celeste. However with the arrival of the contractors there are now some signs of life which is heartening. As I mentioned in an early Blog; TVC has not closed for good it is just having a well-earned rest and is in intermission for a few years.
